Purpose
Life scientists today have to deal with huge amounts of experimental data that only can be fully addressed by multidisciplinary teams of experts doing complex and computational intensive in-silico analysis and experimentation. To support this e-bioscience approach we have built an e-BioLab, a physical space in which scientists can analyze and visualize large biological data sets, discuss results and address biological research questions in an interactive and multidisciplinary setting. The e-BioLab is equipped with advanced visualization end- points, such as a large high-resolution tiled display, high bandwidth connectivity and access to high performance computing. It is set up in an e-science way with methodology facilitating re-use of methods and tools and by application of domain dedicated Problem Solving Environments.
